Meet the Board of Directors
Wade Walker – Chairman/President
Wade was born and raised in Midvale, Utah. Wade is a graduate from Hillcrest High School and has a Bachelor of Science degree in International Finance from BYU. Wade has been a Bank Examiner with the FDIC for over 20 years, and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Wade served an LDS mission in Japan. Wade has been a member of the Midvale Arts Council for 20 years, serving as Co-Chair with his wife Suzanne for over 15. Wade is active in the community in church service and youth sports programs. Wade spends as much time as he can on stage performing in theatrical productions or singing with his brothers – the Walker Brothers. Wade met his wife while doing a show, and together they have four children.
Bob Bedore – Vice President
Bob Bedore has been a fixture in Utah Theater for over 35 years. He’s performed in over 150 different productions throughout most of the state and has directed over two dozen shows. He has written two books on teaching improv, over a dozen plays, and a few screenplays. He’s known as the “Godfather” of Utah improv and still plays with the troupe, “Quick Wits”, almost every weekend (he has performed over 3000 improv shows. In fact, you can usually catch him Saturday nights at the MPAC making up jokes. Bob has owned his own theater and has sat on a few different theater boards. His day job is that of a video producer and in his free time he is usually playing with his family, writing, or doing Stand Up wherever they’ll let him.
Melanie Beardall – Treasurer
Melanie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has been a resident of Midvale since 1976. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Utah State University. Melanie worked for a Certified Public Accountant for over 20 years. She is now semi-retired, working seasonally during tax season. Melanie plays the piano and the organ. She has volunteered for years to play for the Midvale Area Messiah performance, Midvale Arts Council, Missoula Children’s Theatre, and church congregations. She is the Chairman of the Concert Committee of the Midvale Arts Volunteer Council. Melanie and her husband Brent have five children and nine grandchildren. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys music, reading, decorating cakes, and traveling with her husband.
Stephanie Johnson – Secretary
Stephanie was born in Millington, Tennessee, and has lived in Midvale, Utah, for 25 years. Stephanie is a graduate from Hillcrest High School, has a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Certificate in Human Resource Management. Stephanie is the Director of Accounting and Human Resource Manager for Gritton & Associates, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah. She serves as the President of the Midvale Arts Volunteer Council and produces the theatrical productions. Stephanie enjoys performing, directing, and watching theater productions. Stephanie served an LDS mission to Michigan, learning American Sign Language. In her spare time she enjoys photography, travelling, and spending time with her nieces and nephew.
Paul Hunt – City Liason
Paul has lived in Seattle and Boston but now calls Midvale, Utah, home. Paul has a Bachelor of Science in Business and Political Science from the University of Utah. He works as an Accountant Controller. Paul is a member of the Midvale City Council representing the citizens of District 3. Paul sits on the Board of several companies and associations, including RDA Redevelopment Agency of Midvale City, MBA Municipal Building Authority Board Member, Intergovernmental Council of Cities, and the Copperview Recreational Center Advisory Board. Paul and his wife have raised three sons and a daughter. When Paul finds spare time, he enjoys spending it with his family. He also enjoys music and is an accomplished percussionist.
Jason Wild – Board Member
Originally from the southern tip of Illinois (nowhere near Chicago!) Jason has called Utah his home since 2006, and been a Midvale resident for most of that time. Jason has been a teacher in Granite School District for 8 years. With a B.A. in English and a Theater minor from the U, and an M.Ed. from SUU, Jason is a firm believer in lifelong learning and the importance of arts in education, and proudly believes in MAC’s mission to make quality art available to the community at large. A veteran of dozens of plays and musicals, Jason is most well-known in Salt Lake for his work with the Quick Wits, where you can see him every Saturday night having fun with some of Utah’s funniest improvisors and comedians. In his spare time, Jason likes to goof off with his wife Alison and two children, Lydia and Reed, and their pound puppy Malcolm.
Meet the Executive Director
Suzanne Walker – Executive Director
Suzanne has lived in Midvale for 30 years. She is a graduate of Skyline High School and has a Bachelor of General Studies with an emphasis in Management from BYU. She is a certified Bookkeeper and Arts Administrator. She has been a member of the Midvale Arts Council for over 20 years. She served as Productions Chairman for many years and has produced over 40 productions for the council. She has also been privileged to be on stage and behind the scenes directing, choreographing or costuming many of those productions. In addition to her work with The Midvale Arts Council, Suzanne has worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Midvale Elementary, where she was also heavily involved in the PTA. Prior to her work at Midvale Elementary, she was a secretary for the Salt Lake Rotary Club for 10 years. Suzanne lives in Midvale with her husband and four children. In her spare time she enjoys watching her children play basketball and soccer, singing, playing the piano, sewing and cooking.
