The outdoor facility is a basic amphitheater in Midvale City Park that is surrounded by a large grass seating area/park grounds. The amphitheater was built in 1998 and is a concrete stage with an aluminum roof. Two small dressing rooms are located behind the stage. The facility is available for use from May to August and serves as the stage for the Arts Council’s summer musical and summer concert series, as well as the stage for the city’s Harvest Days celebration. The stage is also available for rental and serves as the focal point for the annual Cinco de Mayo celebration in Midvale.
Thanks to Salt Lake County Cultural Facilities Support, Midvale City received grant money to conduct a feasibility study on upgrades to the Outdoor Stage in the Park. This study was just finished and we will be starting a Capital Campaign to raise money to achieve some of these upgrades. While the stage has served Midvale City well for many years, there are things that could be done to improve the space for both patrons and performers. Here is a look at some renderings on the possibilities for improvement. If you would like to help make this a reality, contact Suzanne Walker at email@example.com or donate now
